H.Z. Logistics is a high-quality, groundbreaking and effective service provider. Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) are of great importance to us. We strive to have a positive impact on the environment with our innovative logistics solutions.

Sustainable building
Our recently built building in Maasdijk (NL) was built under BREEAM-NL Excellent certification with a rating of 4 stars. This is a certification method for new construction that looks at integral sustainability. This rating was achieved by using sustainable building materials with high-quality insulation. As a result, the building also achieves an energy label of A+++++.

Our site also contains 26 trailer parking spaces that are equipped with electricity to connect the cooling engine, so that no diesel is used. The tractor places are also equipped with electricity so that the drivers do not have to use diesel in their cabin when they need electricity. The electricity used for this is generated by our solar panels.

Green energy/solar panels
H.Z. Logistics contributes to a cleaner environment by generating electricity through the use of solar panels. In 2023, a total of 1682 solar panels will be installed, of which 1200 are on the main building, the remaining 482 solar panels are on the annex.

Efficient planning
Another way in which we avoid unnecessary emissions is by minimizing kilometers by planning smart trips. Our planners are busy choosing the most efficient routes every day. This not only saves costs for our customers, but also contributes to the reduction of CO2 emissions.

In addition, we also transport by rail, which makes a significant contribution to CO2 reduction. In 2023, this resulted in a reduction of 1170 tons of CO2.

Fuel efficiency
Our drivers are trained in fuel efficiency. These training courses consist of Economical Driving and Code 95 ‘The New Driving’. These training courses give drivers the knowledge to use up to 10% less fuel per trip.

Lean Green
Lean & Green gives participating companies verified recognition for the CO2 reduction achieved on logistics activities.

This verified recognition is awarded in stars. We received our second star in June 2024. This recognition shows that we take sustainability seriously and continuously strive for improvements.

LNG trucks
We are proud that we currently have 30 of our trucks running on LNG (gas). This sustainable alternative reduces CO2 emissions and contributes to a cleaner environment, while offering efficient and reliable transport.

Fuel and tire pressure monitoring
We continuously monitor the fuel and tire pressure of our vehicles. These measures help us to drive as efficiently as possible and avoid unnecessary emissions, which further reduces our environmental impact. At H.Z. Logistics, we consciously work on our sustainable initiatives. Together we work towards a greener future.

Waste management
At H.Z. Logistics, we are actively committed to responsible waste management. For this purpose, we have two environmental streets, where our waste is sorted into four streams: residual waste, cardboard/paper, plastic and green/swill. For the coarse dirt, we use press containers, which ensures efficient and environmentally friendly processing of the waste.

Our waste management partner keeps a close eye on how full the containers are, so that they are emptied at the right time. This prevents both early and late emptying, which allows us to achieve transport optimization and minimize the impact on the environment.

With these measures, we reduce waste and promote recycling, which contributes to a better environment and a sustainable future.

Supporting charities
H.Z. Logistics is closely involved in the Ooievaarsrun and makes several vehicles available to the organization every year. The Ooievaarsrun is an event that focuses on offering a fun day for people with disabilities by offering them a ride in trucks and other special vehicles. This contributes to the well-being of vulnerable groups in society. In addition to the Ooievaarsrun, we offer our drivers the opportunity to participate in other truck runs in the country.

H.Z. Logistics also sponsors the annual Freshride. This is a cycling event where participants raise money for cancer research.

Employee development
H.Z. Logistics attaches great importance to employee development. That is why we make a budget available for courses and training. This allows our employees to continue to develop and expand their knowledge and skills.

We also have a fitness room in our new Dutch building with modern strength and cardio equipment. This space is designed so that our staff has the opportunity to stay fit and active.
